i dont like the colour of it - bad marketing if you ask me. They spent all their time and budget on functionality - a bit of effort on the aesthetics would have made all the difference. So i for one will not be getting one.

maybe someone buys it and posts some mp3s, or better wave files?

What it lacks in GUI support it more then makes up for in tactile response! Imagine how wild the audience will be, when you break out this badboy at a gig, and asks them to integrate with you live on stage!
Think of the amazing result, if the audience is a beer fueled, drugged up crowd of deathmetal evangelists who gets this one served to them!

Heaven sent!

Well, besides the basic idea is a huge step in lateral thinking, I think the whole thing isn't too complex but soooo expensive.

I guess that with a little patience and time, using max/msp with some midi/CV gate converters / processors, a programmable jack patchbay and one or 2 lemurs I could do this without having to pay $$$ for this horrible crappy-designed expensive piece of gear...

If someone wants to help making a cheaper as606 clone ?

cheers

edit:

BTW, besides I found the AS606 site really funny, can we hear a little sarcasm against ambiant music?

I like it. It has a very industrial feel to it. I assume you can daisy chain lots of them together for extra channels. :D

If you daisy chain lots of them together you get a brickwall limiter.
