live 8 - novation nocturn support like sl?

Post by porcini » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:55 pm

Hi beta testers!

Is novation nocturn is control surfaces list ?

So we could use it as live mixer whith track name and more than 8 tracks (like novation sl)

Thanks.

I dont think the nocturn was really designed for this, so you'd probably have to make your own custom template using the MIDI map channel or a custom control surface script

Thanks for your response!

Nocturn can have a lot of pages so it could be possible to use it as a mixer for live (on pages for volume, on for pan...). It's like a sl without fader and with a big screen...

Custom template works but you have to map all controllers for each project.

Instant mapping via Userconfiguration.txt works too, but you're limited to 8 track (I don't hunderstand this limitation, still in live 8?)and you have only feedback for midi controller value not for midi controller name...

For vsts nocturn is great, but for live (mixer, effect, instruments) it's not usefull at all!

well yeah, i really dont think it was designed with DAW mixer in mind at all so yeah is not useful in that department. For vsts and MIDI control though, its fucking amazing. One of my best purchases ever
