Now WHY ON EARTH would you buy Volta if you're going to use Max4Live?

Max is plenty capable of doing the same thing! My euro modular is currently powered by Max.

- that won't be my first patch though - I think the build order for me will be:

Timing engine - including fancy clock-gen abilities.
Storage engine - pattr-enabling as much as possible and building a slick preset morpher.
VDB-based looper... yes, I'll be doing a fucking looper, even though Live has one already - what's it to you!? ;) I already have the bulk of the patch here.
Then on to some of the trickier stuff, like intercepting recordings made into Live for .... reprocessing, shall we say? ;)

I'm just goint to redesign just about every instrument and effect that I've already built with the live gui. I can't wait to see all my own instruments and effects in an Ableton rack! :D

Thanks for the welcome back... the family is well thanks! I actually never have left... I just go through stages of posting hibernation. The buzzing forum around release time is always a lot of fun, so that usually stimulates me out of hibernation.

I will try to get clip names and color, Ive already build a 5x8 clip matrix with scroller on a touch screen, kind of apc emulation with cuepoints that blink red when the clip is armed loading and go green when it's ok playing , all i miss now is clip names, colors and grid representation, max will help to send those infos I hope..I patch on usine, not max)certainly as it was possible with liveapi.. juste wonder how it will allow to send this to midi... a 10x100 clip array names and rgb values represent lot of data, weird translating for midi no?

anyway it's soon the time we 'll triger clips directly on the screen, ive got a simple monotouch but im having so much fun with it, with max for live i hope it will help me build the multitouch ready ableton controller of my dream, waiting for windows7.

many of you guys should have a look at usine, it's already possible to make sequencers, lfo and all that stuff, It's even possible to record and loop any xy movment and loop it straight away (= live rec autom in session view workaround) and you can create your own touch screen interface. drop midi yoke and have fun
just hope max will allow me to send to usine, i want to stay on it. max is far from to be as user friendly, maybe it will change with v5, but from now what I ve seen is so amazing but so ugly and low rate refresh on the Gui aspect, am I wrong?

I'd like to have (don't know if it is possible though) sort of a midi note scanner/player. A device in which you could assign X/Y pad or X-fade slide to "scan" over a midi note phrase, and play those god awful midi notes by sweeping over them.

Its like the IAC driver, but faster and compatible with external computers or computers over the internet too.
actually udp is like tcp but without the handshake and integrity checking.
packets lost over udp are dropped, not resent..
???
