[4666] Setting loop points in clip view

Post by djgroovy » Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:32 am

Most of the time when selecting a part of a clip and choosing "loop selection" the loop get's placed in the wrong place and sometimes with the wrong size too.

Screenshot:

You can see here in darker color where the selection was made, and in white where the loop was placed.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this with a simple try. Can you give step by step instructions please?

Hi amaury, i'm not at my daw computer right now, but it was very easy to get this result, by selecting small sections, like 16ths or 32nds, out of the grid lines that are marked with bar positions.
After the first wrong loop appears, subsequent ones will almost always be set wrong, even say a 1/4 bar loop between grid lines.
Hope you can reproduce.

I'd need to know if you do this in Arranger or Session, or both, on a Mac or a PC, and I'd probably need to know if this happens always or only when following a certain procedure. Let me know, once you are in front of your music computer and you have time.

I'm allready at my computer and i have tested this further.
I am on a PC, Win XP SP3 (it's on my sig ;)

Working on session, clip view. I think i nailed what is causing thie bug: it only happens if you make a selection from right to left. If you select normally, the loop is set correctly.

In the arrangement view, this doesn't happen. However, i can't set a loop shorter than 1 beat (0.1.0) in the arrangement. Is this supposed to be?

Is 1 beat the minimum selection range in arrangement view?

Hi,

Yes, the Arranger loop minimum size is one beat, or 4 16th to be exact.
