Swing --> Straight

Post by de Haan » Tue Dec 23, 2008 12:31 pm

Hi there

For some time I've changed "straight" audio clips to swing 8, which works fantastically for me.

But am wondering if it is possible to do it the other way around? To change a swing 8 clip to straight?...

Thank you!

Yup.

The Groove setting works in real time and is changeable per clip. Also it's dependent on the global groove amount (number box, top left panel).

Now I've got an audio clip (a guitar riff) in swing 8. Can Live change the clip to straight instead of swing?
Clip view already says that the groove setting is straight, so I cannot see how I should change it from swing to straight...?

If it's already in straight, but the actual feel of the clip is in an eigth note swing, then you'll have to use the warp markers to get the beat back on the grid.

For that you'll need to set up some warp markers to straighten the swing.

No, but you can "unswing" it yourself by carefully positionning the warp markers.
