its always the same with ni, and the definitely not terrible video (and i´d suppose also that new toy) makes no exception: its nice somehow, but not breaking it for real.

What is the point of it?!!
For me, it has the downsides of both hardware and software. It seemed more limited than an MPC, but you still need to use a computer with it....

I think you are missing the point of Maschine. I think it's aimed at people who like using software primarily, but want the hands on feel of a hardware drum machine sampler.

In that respect, I think it succeeds.

Why do you think that Maschine is more limited than a MPC 5000?

I would think that Maschine is only as limited as the pc you connect it too.

...which is way more powerful than any MPC...

I think it's a very good concept that NI took...
first with Kore.... now this ...
I would think Kore and Maschine are inspirational...
with a lot of attention given to WORKFLOW...
this is obviously the next step for NI.. they make great software...

it's a bit of a bummer for me ..
because this is kinda what I was beginning to design for my Finals project...
inspired by grooveboxes I've worked with...
I guess it's back to the drawing board...

the concept and intention may be good, but imho the work out lacks quality and depth like in most what ni do. its never more then solid/ok. massive was nearly an exception, but again just... nearly.
