Routing should transmit midi channel as well

Post by eldar » Fri Jun 09, 2006 10:49 am

(important for eg Chordspace / Playa)

Agreed. It's odd why this happens and I hope it gets fixed soon. It seems like a fundamental bug.

I don't think it's a bug. I asked once about this and got this as an answer:

"The solution is to create several MIDI tracks, receiving MIDI data from different channels and route it all to the track containing Kontakt player. For more information, please refer to the manual (p.163: Using Multi-Timbral Plug-In Instruments)."

The page number was probably for Live 6, though, but anyway. Why this is like it is, I don't know.

Thanks posssu. Unfortunately using this workaround means I'd have to run multi instances of ERA2 instead of just a single instance :(

Unless I'm missing something, the way the Abe's have this implemented just doesn't make sense to me. I've seen other threads containing workarounds involving Bidule and/or Energy XT, but why does it need to be this complicated, lol?

OP here, what i meant was that for example Chordspace allows to send the fifth of a chord to eg. midi channel 2, the root to channel 3, etc. Live doesn't allow this. I am talking about VSTis sending midi data to Live, not the other way around. Using EnergyXT is a workaround though.
