Can I Control my Micro Korg with a bunch of Macros??

Post by the dark wizard » Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:55 am

Hi guys, I have a midi keyboard i use to play my korg which is a wee bit up the table that I cant reach when sitting on my ass

is it possible to assign macros to cc out so i can do common things like scroll through patches, filter, envelope etc???

Or has anyone got any ideas how to achieve something similar??

Tnanks

got to be some way to send program change data? I know a lot of hardware that does this but don't know how to do it with live...

In the Clip View for each clip you can set the Program number to send to the synth. I did this in the past with my external synth - 100 clips = 100 synth presets, using follow actions to send program change every 1/16th note! :)

Hi, its really cool, i read loads of places it couldnt be done....

you copy the control surface script in ableton prefernces into a new folder (you create) called whatever eg micro korg.

I then opened the script and edited the name to micro korg so it shows up in midi settings and changed the 8 encoders (macros) to the corresponding values in the midi implementation chart for micro korg.

I then set up and network bus so the macros could send these cc messages to the korg.

Heres a guy on you tube doing it with reason but it works for hardware too....

ps you dont need anything like midi bome/yoke on the mac as you can use the built in network thing (audio/midi devices)
