Max users: mlr adaptation for M4L & APC 40 ?

Post by 4.33 » Thu Jan 29, 2009 3:50 pm

dear Max users, do you think monome patches (esp. the mlr) can be adapted to fit APC 40 when Max for Live is available?

if yes, this will be a dream come true for one live half-improvised project with classical musicians

yes.

mlr input and output (all the max monome patches) use the udpsend and udpreceive objects for control. open them up, look for yourself, it won't bite. ;) it's just a matter of tapping into those.

the Chuck patches (eg conway's life simulator) work the same way, over UDP.

once you tap into UDP it'll be a matter of mapping the monome button presses/LED status into APC commands.

the depth of max coding should be pretty simple, it'll just take some time to do the mapping.

I am in no way promising to code this up. ;)
