This is the statement of a cheap ass who prefers to talk shit about how the expensive stuff is lame because he won't pony up for serious toys and chooses to be ignorant of their expanded capabilities. I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination but I have worked and saved for the things I want and yes, I have an iPhone as does my Mom, Dad, brother and a large percentage of my friends. Millions (yes MILLIONS) of people have them for a reason too... They are the best phones. Period. I'd be willing to bet your the type of person that steals music and uses cracked copies of almost everything because you fail to accept that it costs money to develop software and believe that, for some reason, you are entitled to free music, video, and software because someone else has stolen it and made it available to you.simpleton wrote:Hopefully one day my tracks will be as intricate and complex as yours to be worthy of a Lemon- errr- Lemur. I may even buy a black turtle neck and an iPhone too. But for now I'll make do with my Nocturn.SoundValve7 wrote:...Maybe you think it's lame because you wouldn't be able to fill up more than one page of controls because your projects are simple? ...If you think it's lame because it's expensive and you can't afford it then, ...there are better options available than a keyboard and mouse or a basic non Automap controller.simpleton wrote:By now, most people have no doubt discovered that the Lemur is Lame... and very expensive.
I might have somewhat expensive gear (in Pro Gear terms at least) and a pretty nice studio but that is because I worked for it. I'm 26 and have been playing instruments since I was 6 years old although my electronic music experience has stretched only about the past 6 years. In those past 6 years my setup grew from a laptop and MIDI controller to a Quad processor Mac workstation with 30 and 20 inch monitors, Novation controllers, various Korg products, a Lemur, JBL LSR Series Monitors and Subwoofer, thousands of dollars in plugins, Terabytes of storage containing well over a hundred thousand samples, a Kore 2 controller, and more that I can't think of right now. The point of this is, never in the beginning when I couldn't afford better gear did I talk trash on the high end stuff. While I may not have been able to afford it then, I knew that quality comes at a price. Think about it... Can you buy a luxury sports car for the price of a Honda Civic? Or, more specific to the topic, can you buy a Manley Massive Mastering EQ for the price of a PreSonus? Thinking of it the other way, do you get the quality of the Manley by spending $5,000 less on a cheaper Mastering EQ? The answer is pretty damn obvious although I think you've already blatantly expressed your lack of ability to analyze the situation.
