4.0 & 4.0.4 do i need both ?

hi
under my program files i have both 4.0 & 4.0.4 can i remove 4.0 without hurting or removing content in 4.0.4 (i need as much space as possible) thx John

No one dares to reply on this. What if I give you problems....

On my mac the USER presets are located in
/Users/credo/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 4.0.4/UserPresets

my Live sets and files are kept elsewhere

If you have installed all samples and drumkits coming with Live, the're located in your Factory Presets & Factory Content folders (under the application folder)

so if your new install is the full one (~100 M download) I think you wont lose anything, if it is the smaller one (~18 M) you will lose the extra presets and samples/drumkits. But then you have them in your Box (if you have the boxed version) or downloadable from Ableton (if not boxed)

I usually download and install the smaller update and move my Factory Presets & Factory Content folders to the new install before removing the old.

Others than that I dont know of any possible problems

if you're a Windows user then yes you can remove one without it affecting the other.
