[jab] 8b4 Mackie Control doesn't work as expected
Suppose I have a rock band: Bass, drums, guitar, vocals.
Even something like "bass" could be 2 mics and a DI all blended together for the sound I want. Then I group everything into "stems", or submixes: Bass, Drums, Guitar, Vocals. When I'm mixing I don't want to mess with the balances but adjust the whole subgroup, so If all subgroups are collapsed, the Mackie control should only show the 4 faders of my stems.
But it doesn't the faders stay up, so
1: The display is inconsistent with what the motor faders show.
2: It's easy to accidentaly change a level with a fader in a collapsed group, and not see what you're doing.
3: It's hard to select the group fader, the easiest way is to select it with the mouse, then flip fader banks to see which channel is selected. but it shouldn't be like that.

Couldn't find that anywhere - would be really good, I took a song and grouped it into 4 grouptracks, but then to change the levels you I have to press bank select on the BCF/Mackie 4 times! and it's quite confusing to find the fader.
Also with the upcoming APC40, people performing Live will want to buss all their drums etc. together to keep it simple (personally I would keep it to 8 groups maximum) so the faders that are not shown should really be taken off the control surface.

Hmm, I just looked too and couldn't find it either, so er, perhaps it was a dream I had. Or more likely it's just lost in a big thread about something completely different.djsynchro wrote:Couldn't find that anywhere - would be really good, I took a song and grouped it into 4 grouptracks, but then to change the levels you I have to press bank select on the BCF/Mackie 4 times! and it's quite confusing to find the fader.
I'm still pretty sure I read a post saying that they were working on it, but I'm becoming less sure all the time !

Would this also address the same thing happening on an SL and Euphonix?
Thanks
