Hi, so I downloaded the XLN Addictive Drums demo (http://www.xlnaudio.com/?page=downloads ... emoversion) bc I've heard so many good things about it. It's a "fully functioning" version of the software, just with a limited kit -- one snare, one kick, a hi hat and a cymbal.
I am very used to using Impulse to program my drum parts. The "a" key on my keyboard maps to the kick, the "s" to the snare, and so on. (Or I use the keys on my midi keyboard to do the same thing...)
What I can't figure out is how can I map Addictive Drums to do the same thing? So that if i hit, say, the c on my midi keyboard, i hear the kick, and if i hit the D i hear the snare, etc. I really want to use the "velocity change" feature of AD that Impulse samples don't offer. I've never used chains, instrument rack, nothing like that. Ive just been dragging the Impulse set I want to use onto an empty Midi track and start banging away.
Anyhoo, Im sure it's possible to map the AD drums to midi keyboard keys in Ableton 6, I just don't know how to set it up. Any tips? Links to docs? Believe me I've tried RTFM'ing but can't find what im looking for.
Thanks!
