AudioKontrol 1 as replacement of m-audio 410??

Post by computercontrolled » Sat Feb 07, 2009 11:34 pm

I own m-audio 410 and so far i have no complains works smooth on my pc, the only issue is that i have problems with syncing my electribe (cubase, live, pro tools) ive tried all and still theres some issue.

Im about to play live so the TI chipset ist another issue (im getting a dell lap top xps m1530) so......i see no reason for buying 2 soundcards so the question is, how realiable is the AK1, do consider ti a good option for replacement both for studio and live performance?? i use live7 for both studio and live perfomance.

I use an AK1 as my portable/live interface. The inputs are good enough, but all you get are the pair on the front panel. That is a mic/line and a line/inst. Wish they coulda put a second mic pre on it, but it works fine as is. No rear-mounted RCA's on the back. Not a deal breaker, just mentioning it. The output side of the device is excellent, especially the cue functionality. Two pairs of outs on the rear (1-2, 3-4) and the headphone bus lets you switch between them easily. So if you want a way to drive a PA and have your own cue setup, it is a good choice. Set the cue to 3-4 in Live, and you are all set.

I had a FW410 way back a while ago, and I like the AK1 a lot more.
