Funky breaks and bass

Post by monkeyboy » Sun Feb 08, 2009 7:22 pm

This popped out of my head and into the computer in literally a couple of hours last week. I threw quite a tough rolling bass in with some quite mellow keys and samples and it came out pretty well I reckon!

Still a little rough around the edges but thought I'd see what people think. Its also my first Soundcloud upload - feel free to listen, download and criticise.

Cheers!

I love your track, especially the snare. The use of some delays here and there would enhance the track even more.

Thanks for the comments guys. Now you mention it, that riff does sound a little squiffy. Its a simpler patch so might be something to do with the sample. A bass lick in there might pep things up in teh middle where it 'sags' a little bit at the moment.

Good call on the delays - I was thinking some of the breakdowns were a little abrupt - a bit of delay would smooth things over a lot.

Glad you like it and cheers for helping me make it better!
