Changing the pitch bend automation mapping?

Post by bpoteat » Sun Feb 08, 2009 7:56 pm

OK, I'm fairly new to ableton but have used a few other DAW's extensively and I have a quick question that I can't seem to find an answer for.

The pitch bend on my controller is horrible. Is there a way to map the pitch bend to a knob or slider? I get that they won't return to center like a real pitch bend control (wheel, stick, whatever) but I'm ok with that.

Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing in the manual and this forum because I can't seem to find it searching. Any help or suggestions, even if it doesn't solve my problem exactly, would be appreciated.

thanks.

Nothing? Like I said, ANY help is appreciated - even if just casually related if it might point me to something else that does help.

I did it on my trigger finger before so I know it can be done. I had one fader programed to be centered bottom so pushed up would bend up and the next fader centered at top, so pull down is bend down. But both could return me to 0 (no bend).

I think I used the Enigma program to set up my Trigger Finger... I don't remember what the control # for bend is, sorry.

Thank you GREATLY. I tried to see if I could do something similar with my controller and it looks like I can, but I have to reprogram it on the controller, not from software. That kind of sucks, but at least I think it is possible.

Going to try that tonight.
