I can only imagine what it sounds like when you try to "scratch" a WMA file... I think that would be an audiophile's worst nightmare..

Also, why are there mac and pc versions of this product? And WHY is the mac version 50$ more? What the crap is that all about?

I bought this for controlling the traktor dj studio.. it does a fine job at that.. sometimes the buttons get a little stuck for a second after you press them or arent' very sensitive, thats the only build problem this thing has.. it may look like a toy but i tell you i was suprised by the build quality.. i mean it is quiet bulky and heavy, doesn't really feel like a toy.. it has the price of a toy..

anyways this thing also has ASIO suport and 3 outputs.. until now the ASIO drivers were really poor, but i just got my hands on the new ones and so far so good, totally new ASIO drivers, and it works good, prelistening and final mix all sound ok... This i can now take with me and play with it, without having to brinhg another soundcard...

also yes, all the buttons and faders can be used in live.. assigned eq knobs to eqs, crossfader (and it's a fast one - unlike the UC-33 faders...) on crossfader etc.. it has two infinte knobs which i assigned to the vertical clip navigation in session view and to the BPM field.. very nice for dj style mixing in live...

Anyways just to say: the new asio drivers aren't so bad, and this little cheap thing is very good for it's price..

I just watched a presentation of it down at Apple Store Soho. looks like a cool thingy to use w/ traktor that comes w/it and Live I guess. Yes the Mac version is more expensive 'cause of the traktor special version that comes w/ it . Another soft for PC though.

Can you use the jog wheels to cue/scratch/spinback using Live? If so, what's it like?

What kind of latency are we talking about here?

Was also wondering if the Mac version could be used on a PC? I know PC version can't be used on Mac but that doesn't necessarily mean that with the right software the opposite cannot be true.

if i remember correctly, asio latency was like 20ms and nope u can't use the jog wheels to spin scratch or cue.. u can assign them to any parameter that supports MIDI inifinite-knobs-type input...

none of the clip controls can be mapped to midi or keyboard as a matter of fact... still haven't figured that one out
