Post by bynoe » Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:21 pm

When a vst is selected, no parameters show up on the SL25. Anybody else have this problem

Ok. I'm going to see if this helps. Although my problem is weird as it seems to work with some VST's. It's obviously something i've done wrong, although i'm surprised no one else has this problem.

this is happening because in live 8 you can select what parameters you want to map....click on midi ....the open a plugin....click on parameter on the vst and watch it appear on the sl ...i got caught out by this one as well

Thanks for that. It works, but are you saying that i have to select each parameter on my plugin to have it show up on my SL. Thats crazy and defeats the whole concept of automap.

Another question why does it work for some plugins and not others.

Yes, you have to select plug-in parameters to make them visible to automapping or automation. And it is much better this way because automap was useless in template 40 with plug-ins before this, since parameters would always be in disorganized order and for large plug-ins you wouldn't even get the whole list of parameters. Now you chose the order you want the parameters to show up in. If you have a favorite setup, you can just save the plug-in in an instrument rack.

The only problem with this system now is that that damned on/off control is stuck in the first parameter slot, throwing everything off from a nice symmetrical arrangement.

Because if the plug-in has less than 128 parameters, they all show up. You can then change the order from the default.

Cheers for this I understand it now. It does make sense this way as i always had to go through many pages to access the main parameters i used.
