Ableton usage question

I'm a little green with Live (pretty green in fact). And was wondering about the following: Is it possible to set a clip to play a certain number of bars before handing over to another clip. For example, I have a 4-bar clip. If I press the play button on another clip on the same track while clip 1 is at it's second bar, the third bar will play clip 2 (at it's first bar). However, I'd want clip-1 to play to completion before live plays clip 2.

I must be daft. Under Clip View/Clip Defaults and Update Rate in the manual, there is talk about a global preference that seems to be doing what I want. However, I'd prefer doing it on individual clips.

I did look at the manual! However, english is not my native tongue...

I also tried Quantization in the Launch box for a clip. Setting that to 4 bars doesn't do the trick, it still skips to the next clip at the 2nd or 3rd bar...

Tonedeft: As I understand it, follow actions are when you want the clips to be triggered automatically. I still want manual control. Just want to let a clip play for it's whole 6 bars (for example) before moving on to the next.
