Is it good with Live4 ?
I use OSX PB.
Yeah, I read the article in the Sound On Sound.
But, still looks good to me.
I think I'm getting it this week.
I think I'll be using it like
Midi controller>Synth>audio I/O
Has anyone tried it ?
Is it that good ??
Your opinion always appriciated.
thx
Cheers

i have an audio remote 25 which is the first version of the x-station. i also use a powerbook on osx. it works great with live and any other audio mid program i have. i was able to download the software into its os which turned it into the x-station. now it works as an 8 voice synth as well as audio I/O and midi controller. I think it sounds great recording music through it to my computer. I also believe it's not possible to beat it for midi control. it's programmability is great, some of which has already been mentioned on this forum. also, take for instance the top left knobs that represent the oscillator section of the synth- there's seven of them(or so-i'm not in front of it right now) but press the the osc2 button and those 7 knobs can now be prorammed differently. press the osc3 button and those 7 same knobs can send new commands again. presse the noise button and the same again.
but now i will have to say, i have had mine for just less then a year and it's in the shop. one knob began sending data erracticly. i turn the knob slowly and it spits out data not consecutively. this makes a smooth sweep impossible. this began to happen on my supernova filter knob too rendering it useless. so it's in the shop under warranty thankfully cause its less than a year old but now i am with out my audio i/o and midi controller for a month or longer perhaps if parts are not in stock! and my confidence is low in its durability for the future. sometimes playing it's synth it freezes too. note sustains indefinitly and knobs and keys do nothing till i turn it off/on.
the v-station that comes with it sounds great, like the supernova, but can become bigger cpu hog than i would like as polyphony rises above 4 voices on my 1.33ghz powerbook with latency buffer at 1048.
For midi control nothing yet looks to be more appealing. but my fingers are crossed for my particular unit because my faith in its durability has been broken.
this probally doesn't make you decision any easier, but this has been my experience. I love it but am hoping luck will avoid me severe disappointment.

Thanks man.
This really helps ALOT.
I didn't know that the V-station comes with it.
We're talking about the plug-in, right ?
Wao, that's a great deal.
Yeah, I hear many things about the 25 that it's knobs and stuff
brokes real easily.
There's no perfect controller.
And this 25 is the most perfect one that I can ever find so far.
It would be great if the knobs had lights, and movable faders like mackie control. Yeah, well they don't have it at the market right now, and I'm pretty sure they know what we really want.
Thanks, it really helps me alot.
I'll make sure I won't lose my warrenty.
By the way, I know exacty how you feel without the Audio I/O.
It's a real pain.
I'm sure many of us had the same experience.
ex/ computer breakdown audio glitch.
anyway thx.
will let you know anything.
good luck with your musix.
thx for writing.

yes a few months after i purchased mine they came out with a bundle which they offered me free of charge. that included cubase LE, Live adapted, V-station, and software dowload to turn audio remote into a KS series novation hardware synth. check their website, i'm assuming that all comes with the x-station these days standard.

nah, they dropped the bundle package with the x-station.
Wish they still had it.
No store sells the xtreme anymore.
But I'm sure they'll have the x-station xtreme and a free update for the
users.
