For Live 8 Beta Tester about new effects

Post by luis liu » Thu Feb 12, 2009 11:13 am

hi folks,
i would to know from beta tester of live8 some info about nu multiband comp.

how it works? i dont see some of common parmaters of a normal compressor (attack or release for example)
how it sounds?
there are some artifacts due to band split?
it's possible have more of three bands?

tnx!

Have you checked the beta discussion forum or the manual?
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.

Yes, it has attack and release.
Sounds bloody great!
No artifacts that I noticed
Not possible to have mroe than three bands, as far as I can see.

Bloody great GUI, really is a nice bit of kit.

I see Russ is a fan !

I agree with him that for an internal, in the box plugin, it is a good addition.

I don't think you'll be dropping any expensive 3rd party equivalents any time soon to use it, but it's definately useable and potentially useful, especially for users who are solely using Live's inbuilt FX.
