Low Track/Plug Count in 2.0 OS X

Post by bleh » Mon Dec 09, 2002 2:04 pm

I'm getting 6 audio tracks along with 2 compressors and 2 reverb effects before my computer starts lagging. I have a Powerbook G4 550/512 which I know isn't the best machine out there for audio, but come on, 6 tracks with 2 reverbs and 2 compressors?? Any Mac users getting similar results at all?

bleh, we have basically the same machine (667/512), 10.2, in my wildest dreams I wouldn't think of running two reverbs, let alone one. Sadly, I use that lovely 'verb in "first class" mode for resampling only.

that's osx for you. switch back to 9 if you want more tracks/fx.

those 550/667 models have zippo cache on them. terrible for audio.

also, the current beta has some code left in which is not needed (Bernd owned up to this)
