emagic emi 2/6 / rewire

I'm new to usb and multiple output sound devices: - using the emagic emi 2/6 with Live - you can only get audio coming out of a pair of outputs for the master stereo, right?

1 more question: - if you want to use live and rebirth/reason together via rewire, do you need 2 audio outputs on your soundcard? I seem to be having trouble on my laptop with 1 output - don't know - maybe the soundcard just isn't able to cope with 2 audio programs running. Can anyone help with this issue in general?

you don't need two outputs on your soundcard. rewire is just internal.

No, the emi 2/6 has three pairs of outputs: you can assign the master output to one of those pairs, the monitor out to another, and any of the other tracks can be sent to the third, if desired. I usually send the master to outs 3/4 and the monitor to outs 1/2, which is shared with the headphone jack....

i have an emi26 too

question : have you ver tried to record audio through another DAW than Ableton?
- Ableton works great for me
- Tracktion , Cubase & Logic all cause terrible latency noise , clicks & pops , ... while recording /monitoring through the input of the a26.

I've always wondered if this was because of issues with my pc or issues with the emi-26
