Any thoughts on the Alesis Micron synth?
I may buy. anything better?

Anyways, one issue to consider is without the software editor, they would be NIGHTMARES to program. Not a big deal for us computer users, but for a lot of musos, that's a dealkiller.
Second, it has a higher than normal MIDI information bit rate, I think 12 or 14 bits for all it's CC messages. Not that it's a good controller with only two sliders, a wheel and three knobs, but it won't work properly with most other MIDI gear (other than the ION). I don't know about RECEIVING midi, if it has some sort of bit converter...
BUT, they do sound sweet, and look cool too.
