He's talking about Max for Live, and yes, it will.

And I should add that I've been looking at the patch and the Jazz Editor file while I'm waiting for my Lemur and I'm drooling. I can't wait to play with this thing!

My latest project is featured at the Jazzmutant site:

http://www.jazzmutant.com/workshop_temp ... id=dynamic

It's a Max patch for Live and Lemur V2.

Imagine when this stuff gets incorporated without need for Rewire or virtual midi drivers.

Cheers,
Mikael

oo haven't been around on either forum for awhile, if i get my hands on the
beta of 8 I will be sure to try this out on my lemur if you get it working in live

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth taking the plunge, knowing that I won't be able to get my hands on Live 8 for a while, and also that I don't know nearly enough about Max to be able to make an informed judgment about what it will be able to do for me.
The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

Ok I wouldn't say substitute. From what we know M4L will still do all it's communication through Live. Lo-Fi was just saying that M4L will eliminate the need for using ReWire and virtual MIDI buses for setups like his DyNAmic because M4L will be talking directly to Live instead of through ReWire. If you want to communicate with other apps like Reason or Reaktor then you're still going to have to use ReWire and things like MidiYoke.

@ Lo-Fi - Dude I said it over at JazzMutant but DAMN!

If anybody else is thinking of taking advantage of the sale on Lemurs going on right now rest assured you will have quite a toy to play with right out of the box with DyNAmic.

What's so cool to me is that it's such a foreshadowing of the kinds of things that M4L is going to make easier and more common, full fledged user-made instruments that live in between the software and the hardware.

Thanks again!

A tutorial on how to make a step sequencer in Max (for the Lemur) is now available at Jazzmutant.

It's, of course, centered around the Lemur, but sequencing principals should be universal to future Max (for Live?) projects.

Cheers,
Mikael
