Noob question: Live is recording the metronome...

I am using a Mackie u.420d firewire mixer/audio interface. The drivers are current and the interface is recognized. The audio comes through the input fine, but when I record, the metronome is recorded onto the armed track as well as what I'm intentionally recording. Then, when a new track is created, armed and recorded onto, the the audio from the previous tracks (including the metronome) are all recorded onto the new track.
Is this a routing issue, or an issue with the mixer?
I'm stuck. I've never had this problem with Live before (even though I'm pretty much a noob).

Hello mort_subite,

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds indeed like a routing issue. You can route the metronome´s output on live´s mastertrack "cue out" output chooser in order to seperate it from the master output.
Also, the "preview/cue volume" let´s you adjust the metronome volume.

Hi there,

disengage the FW LOOP OUT switch on the Mackie and check if the problem persists.
