behringer BCR200
behringer BCR200
hi,
i'm trying to control live via the behringer BCR 200 controller.
i've mapped the rotary knobs without problems.
then i wanted to assign the push buttons to
-speaker on
-mute
but when i press them different parameters come in the screen of the controller and nothing happens.
did i miss something? (most probable)
or is there a map for live that i can load on the bcr200?
it is maybe a silly question but since a day i can't come through this.
thx

hi matheo,
i just downloaded the midi driver and latest firmware.
then i have assigned the buttons using the midi matrix on live.
the rotary knobs are working fine, but the push buttons don't work always when i try to send a "speaker on/off" and "mute".
on the bcr200 i didn't configure anything.
thx in advance for your help (i'm getting frustrated....)

Did you try to configure one of the 16 push buttons with the same parameters you filled in the push-knobs you want to use?
If you are able to control the mute with the push button and not with the push-knob, the problem may come from the BCR.
If it also does not work with the push button, then it is probably a configuration problem. In is case, let me know the parameter you use and I will compare with mine by next tuesday (I've not my BCR with me until this date...).

in fact i didn't cofigure in a special way the bcr200.
i'm just using the first preset of the controller, and have configured the 8 first push buttons with the function "speaker on/off" and the other 8 with mute.
for the speaker on/off it is ok
but i have to press twice to enable and disable the mute.
it is probably a configuration issue, but i have no idea of where...
thx

Thus I think they are two possibilities:
A- push buttons 1-8 and 9-16 are not configured in the same way.
B- mute and speaker ON/OFF functions in LIVE are not expecting the same type of CC messages (I do not remember how it is done in LIVE).
To check what is the right solution, try to assign the first 8 push buttons to mute and the 8 others to speaker ON/OFF and let me know the result.
In any case, I think you should have a look on the type of MIDI messages the BCR can send. I personaly configurated my push button as CC messages using msb and lsb (i.e.: the first time you push, the sent value is 127 and the next time it is 0, and the next time it is 127, and the next time it is 0, ...etc...). If you do not understand everything, do not hesitate to ask... but not before next tuesday... sorry...

thank you matheo, as you said, i have tried to change the signal sent from the bcr2000 into all the possibles, and CC worked.
now i can control the more important functions from the bcr2000.
thank you all again for your help
and merry christmas!

I'm having exactly the same problem.4am wrote:in fact i didn't cofigure in a special way the bcr200.

Controlling Live's mute/pre-listen buttons in BCR2000
I've managed to solve the problem (partially) changing Value 2 settings on the bottom-row 8 switch buttons to value 127.Still, my BCR does not read CC changes (of those same 8 buttons) made inside Live with my mouse.

You have to send "midi feedback" back to the BCR2000.
Make sure in your midi preference tab you have the BCR selected as a midi output (just to the right of selecting the midi control inputs)

The question is not whether or not you are influenced, but rather what it is that influences you.
