where do deleted plug-ins go?

when you're done using a VST and you delete it, where does it go? can I sell it? I need to get rid of them so I can install the latest BeatKangz4Live beta software.

All those years ago, when VST first came along and we where all young and naive, I had a friend that used to take all of his plugins out of a session before he trashed it as he was convinced they went too.
