just got evicted!!!
just got evicted!!!
thats right fellas, listen to this.
so I am now unemployed as of jan 2nd 09', last year around June another company I had applied for work with called my current employer, which I had asked them NOT to do. anyway, so they called to check my references and my current boss got the call. well, this led to my current employer(at the time) to ask me(tell me) to put down in writing when I was planning on leaving.
I told him I wasn't sure but I'd let him know if anything solid came up, this did not fly, at all. so I talked them into giving me until Jan 09 and told them I was planning on going back to school and they didn't need to worry that I'd go to work for the competitors(this was in commercial hardware and lumber sales position), so they agreed and gave me until Jan 09'.
so Jan 2nd rolls around, I have my last day and I go, very, very, happily I go.
I tell my roommate whats up, I let him know not to worry as I have my 401K money coming(about 4 grand), and I will cover the rent through march, and move out by April first, He agrees and there's no problems...
well this F*****G B*****D ASS EXCUSE FOR A F*****G FRIEND(sorry), comes to me today and says, "I found someone who wants to rent the room and you need to move out by the first of March, as in, 11 DAYS FROM NOW!!!
keep in mind that I have known this guy since we were 11 years old, I have never once turned my back on him or done him wrong in any way, I have at times in the past just practically eaten s**t to cover this f*****s ass when he's gotten in trouble.
I AM SO PIST OFF I MIGHT END UP DOING SOMETHING YOU'LL SEE ON THE 6 O'CLOCK NEWS!!!
this is far and away the worst backstabbing I have ever endured, I want to kill this guy.
I now have 11 days to move, and I am currently unemployed, yeah, try getting a new place with no job. THIS IS SCREWED UP.
the worst part is that he's trying to talk to me like, "hey bro, you know I got your back right? and I'd never to anything to screw you over... BUT...
then he tells me that he cant risk me staying there until April 1st because he might not find another roommate that he likes at that time.
I know I have some legal grounds to force a 30 day notice if I want to, but I don't want to now, you know. I want to go as far as I can get from this scummy bastard.
there is so much more to all of this that I am just to wiped out to type.
how are jobs and housing around the rest of the country?

legally I can force him to do this, but realistically it is a nightmare to enforce, I would have to go out and get a place, pro rate the daily cost and then send him a bill sfter the fact and press for payment, it's really not that easy.Rave wrote:Your 'mate' is a cnut. Is your name on the lease? If so then you have the right to move out on your given date provided you made a written request... Then again I'm no lawyer but if your name is on the lease you have some kind of legal recourse...

That's frustrating man. I say get focused on finding a share where your name isn't on the lease and the rent is cheap so they wont be insane about checking your income, etc.
As for your current roommate. Sounds like a jerk. This may inspire you: http://www.collegehumor.com/tag:roommat ... /articles/

the best one was an old room mate smeared shit all over the back of my buddy's refrigerator. he said he didn't figure it out for a few weeks.......
funniest thing is that my buddy just said.. "yeagh he got me" and laughed.

Somebody always has to come along and trump the OP's story.
So here we go…
I once lived with my girlfriend and my friend since first grade. At some point the relationship wasn't working and we broke up and I even helped her find her own place. She never stayed a night in the new place and instead moved directly into my friend's room and they became a couple. I don't care how much you don't want to be with somebody, you don't want them hooking up with your friend nightly 20 feet away instantly after the breakup. A few months later they asked me to move out because they felt awkward around me even though I never caused drama.
My revenge? Nothing directly, but now they are neck deep in all the boredom, distrust, and annoyance that goes along with 7+ years of marriage. Glad I could bring them together.

that's just fucking low as it gets. I'D NEVER FUCK any of my friend'S GF's. There is just something so fucked about licking the place where your life long friend used to drill.beats me wrote:Somebody always has to come along and trump the OP's story.

unfortunately I am an American, and therefore have no real "mates", just the plastic friends that my country is all too famous for, saddening really.
I am going to move out, bite the bullet and just do it, tomorrow I'm going to city hall to see if I can legally bill him for my expenses, the total 180 degree turn after knowing each other for 20 years has just got me ready to kill, but at the same time, I can see the longterm affect of a lot of what this dude's doing know. I think around the end of the year he'll be paying the price not just for this but for some other stuff that he's done recently that I just found out about, not involving me, but he's burning some other bridges as well.
we'll see how things go.
anyone need a roomy with a nice Ableton equipped mac pro 2x2.66 with 7 GB ram, 2 remote sl's (25 & 37), an ultralight MK3, an 828 MK2, Digital Performer 6, reason 4, a nice mcbook for portable work, oh yeah I've also got an oldschool red virus rack.
these are my roommate credentials.
just so everyone knows.

I think I'm just going to live at his expense for the next 10 days, you know, eat all his food, drink all his beer etc...
If he leaves his bag of weed out, WATCH OUT!!!
