Latin Percussion, unused, slows Live to a crawl

Post by Angstrom » Thu Feb 19, 2009 4:49 pm

I installed Latin percussion, but it did not authorise

after doing this Live slows to a crawl in any operation, even ones that do not involve Latin Percussion, for example - waiting for the default template to load takes about 10-15 seconds where it normally takes 1-2 seconds.
Similarly, actions such as opening menus are slowed down, the GUI redraws incredibly slowly. Like it's about to hang, but never quite does.

I uninstalled Latin Percussion and Live sped back up to normal speed.

Same here. My PC is quite fast (Core 2 Duo 2*3Ghz and 4 Gigs of RAM), but it becomes noticeable slow by Latin percussion. If one Latin-Percussion set is loaded into the scene, memory used by Live raises > 2 gig.

For me it's possible to work this way, but i can't figure out how it'd be on a Laptop.

I do not own Essential Instruments Collection, but i don't think it's that hard there, is it?

EIC does not cause this problem for me.

UGH

wish i had seen this thread the day of my gig! I new LP was slow but didn't realize it could affect the overall speed of Live w/o even using it.

i just uninstalled and live is off and zooming again.
