8.0b11 device chain refresh

sorry for lack of a better title

if i put a device in a channel, let's say an inst. rack and unfold it so that i get to horizontally scroll to the far right, then i drop a new inst. instead, i will first see nothing in the chain, unless i click in it or scroll back to the left to see the new device.
