Microsampling is sampling of very short snippets of audio and creating tracks with that material. Most often the finished composition doesn't sound like the sound sources at all and doesn't allow to recognize the samples - as opposed to sampling like in hiphop or sampledelic or plunderphonics, where the samples are often recognizable and add their specific own sound to the whole of the track.

Check out Akufen.

Generally: Sampling where you, even if you are familiar with the source material, can't make out what song has been sampled.

The Geeky version: Tiny, tiny fragments that are meticulously put together to make an original composition. See: Akufen, though his newer stuff is closer to...

The "Mainstream" version: Using serveral small pieces of instrument hits, stabs and other sounds to get an authentic vibe in an otherwise modern production. See: Ed Banger Records.
