Is there anyway to warp multitrack drums etc

Post by Samsara » Sat Feb 21, 2009 2:44 pm

Is this possible, Protools 'Elastic audio style' ?

I deal with a lot of multi-miked stuff, from drums to guitars.

Is there anyway to warp this stuff?

If not, will Live 8 bring any changes to this field?

thanks

yeah check out the 'master' and 'slave' buttons on the clip.
it's all in the manual.. but basically pick a track you want to warp to, drag this to the top track i arrangement and then click all of the other tarcks you want to folow it and make them the 'slaves'
Thats a pretty shit explanation sorry.. just search on 'slave' in the mnual, and that should do it

actually the master / slave thing is different than multitrack warping.

setting a clip as master will create a tempo map across the arrangement, so _everything else_ follows the master clip's warping.

if you want to warp a group of tracks together, just select all those tracks. select the one on which you want to place warp markers LAST (it will be the one visible in the clip view)

NB: the clips must be exactly the same length.

if they are not, you will need to solve this by consolidating. be careful of any warp settings etc in that case. (before / during consolidation)
