Live lopping Ableton and Art-X-12 midi foot controller

HI all, been sussing out some of the looping tutorials here, I have borme midi translator, ableton and midi yoke.

What I can't seem to understand if my foot pedal (art x-12) is up to the job?

Do I need a footpedal attached to this to make it work?

or can I do it by changing the presets?

can anyone tell me if its possible to use this as a looping tool or do I need to upgrade to say a Behringer FCB1010 Midi Foot Controller.

As far as I can tell, on this pedal you cant send seperate CC messages from each pedal.

Is there a way I can get live looping ala "kid beyond" style with this setup?
