MIDI CC as automation lane

Post by pedx1ng » Fri Feb 13, 2009 3:22 am

Forgive me and please correct me if I am in error, but as I understand the situation now, in order to edit MIDI CC data, such as Channel Aftertouch, you must use a clip envelope.
I would like to be able to treat MIDI CC data as automation so it shows up and is editable as an automation lane like other parameters. Initially this desire came about due to working with a hardware synth, but it would also be useful for several VSTs, in my opinion.

I came across this old thread which I think describes a similar request, and it did not receive any replies.

Is it too late for something like this to make it into 8?

I agree it would be nice.

spectrasonics' atmosphere vst also requires the use of
midi cc for automation. (as far as i am aware)

I think it would be an option to edit CC in the midi editor self, like velocity (add another edit line). cubase, logic, sona do it that way and I think it's a good way. you can easily edit in the arrange and session view with it.
