MAX/MSP supports Pen Tablets, so it would be the logical time to implement this into Live right now, wouldn't it, Ableton?

I've got a buddy striggling with lack of wacom support as well, really hope this gets sorted finally.

Robert only uses his Wacom as a beer coaster since the pen ran out of ink..

Probably no WACOM support in the initial Live 8 version yet. Too bad. Tablet pc's are on the rise, max/msp supports pen tablets, and a pen tablet fix has been on Ableton's fix list for quite some time already. But it's still on the list.
I'm really sorry to spoil the party, but knowledge is better than speculation:

After investigating this issue we realized that we can't solve this in a quick fix that can be sneaked in, so i'm afraid a solution is not on the horizon at the moment, at least not for the initial Live 8 release.
Please rest assured that this is still on the list but if we come up with a fix it has to be a proper one and this needs some time.

Dom

At least, for the moment they could fix the not-so-smooth automation drawing with a wacom pen !

not bad 8)
I don't mean the pressure support or any other exotic wacom features..

If you use a wacom with Live you know exactly what I mean.. HELL...

If you touch a parameter or gently adjust it,
the parameter 'runs' while you're not moving your pen/mouse..

I find this very very very uncomfortable and totally not understandable because Live is the ONLY app that I know of that acts like this....

And the most irritating part of it all is that Live is pretty inconsistent at it as well cause not all parameters act like this (i.e. Operators envelopes)..

But I give up..
Live will never support wacom I guess..
Or maybe in Live v.9 or v.57 when the do a complete recoding..

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgggghhhhhhhh...
After reading you post I had to try how is it like and yes in tablet-mode normal operations are so frustrating that I wouldn't call that usefull in any case. But I found solution: Change to mouse-mode. That works with my wacom. You should not miss any of the important features but usability is granted.

And btw. envelopes drawn by hand <3 Soooo beautiful! I'm hooked!

Yes, this is nice, but I'd still prefer to have splines with control handles since drawing isn't always as precise, specially when you have to "adjust" or "fix" the painting. Well, anyway it must be even worse with a mouse, which I haven't used for about four years. I love my Intuos, the only thing that could top it would be a Cintiq, and that one would allow to draw really nice curves, fast. But anyway, for curves I'd prefer splines.
