midi button question

Post by q.musgrove » Fri Feb 27, 2009 3:39 am

Thanks in advance for all the help thus far. I'll try and be clear.

I have a keystation pro 88 and it has these midi assignable buttons. I've found that by using midi cc 145(which is the sustain I think) on a button and setting the clip launch to toggle I can have the sample play only as long as I'm holding the button down. I would like to be able to repeat that for other buttons and tracks as well. what are my options? I'm on a mac. Thanks for any and all help.

I don't think that the midi cc matters in this case. As long as you assign a button to a clip and set the clip to toggle it should work the same way. I could be wrong about this but I'm pretty sure. Just assign each button a different cc and then assign the clips as desired.

what seems to be happening is that with the midicc 146, I get a indication of midi activity (in the top right of the screen) when I push the button and then another when I let off. with the other cc's though I only get activity when I press down on the button... so I have to press it twice even when it's set to launch/toggle. Any other suggestions or info is much appreciated though. I thought it may be an issue with the values of each button press and release but if that was the case I would still be seeing midi activity upon the release of the button right? hmmmm. I suck at this.
