I'm previewing an mp3 in the preview tab with Raw turned off. If I wait until the full waveform has loaded and then switch Raw on then off again then I get a dark grey area appear over the last 20% or so of the waveform. Now when the preview playing reaches the start of that grey area, then playback stops.
This is reproducible on all my mp3 and m4a files.
[5007] 8b15 - File preview stops playing before end
Re: [5007] 8b15 - File preview stops playing before end
Cannot reproduce this on 8b19 - fixed, I think.
Edit: I spoke too soon: not fixed. Happens much less often, but if I mess around with the tempo a lot, then I will still get a dark grey area appear occasionally in the preview tab (e.g at the start of the file) and the preview player refuses to play that dark grey area.
So, different behaviour in 8b19, but still not working 100%...

Re: [5007] 8b15 - File preview stops playing before end
Hi,
That may be a different thing: the gray area generally represent the areas outside of the clip start and end markers, or loop brace if it's looped.
If you drag such a clip into Live, is the start/end marker reflecting the dark area you see in the preview tab?
Regards,
Amaury

Thanks for the explanation. Yes, that is indeed the case when I examine the clip.
Basic user error?
