TimewARP2600 ADSR Bug related to Live
As ive been testing this in several hosts and only get this error inside of Live, i decided to report this in here.
The problem is this,
when i control the ADSR in the above mentioned VSTi, the parameters jump from 0-50% when just turning my knob 1%.
(the sustain work like it should however, but none of the others do)
When looking at the parameter view, i can see that the parameter numbers on the Sustain differs a lot from the other 3 however, which might the problem.
I personally NEED this to work, so im hoping this can be sorted somehow.
Im using Live 7.0.14.
WinXP, Intel Core2Duo.

Hello,
I can reproduce this with Timewarp v.1.3 on OS X with Live 7.0.14 and absolute MIDI controllers - it seems that it´s a Timewarp bug - please report it to wayoutware.
Best,
Christian

I have, but as its working in other hosts, but not Live, it must be Live related, no?

I have the same problem. If I'm correct, it's not just ADSR, but several other parameters as well. I did tell Jim at WayOutWare about it, and just mentioned it again to him recently. I discovered it in Automap, but never noticed whether the problem was there via MIDI. It's too bad, b/c TimewARP with the Novation Remote SL is gold otherwise.
MacBook 2 GHz Intel CoreDuo, 2GB RAM, Live 6.10, Reason 4.01, Reaktor 5.14, Novation Remote SL 25, GForce Oddity, TimewARP 2600, Arturia CS-80V 2, UC-33e, M-Audio FastTrack Pro, Roland Jupiter 6 w Europa mod

Yea, im enjoying it madly with my BCR (the Novation Remote would be even nice tho), but these parameters are utterly important, so its a bit of a draft not be able to use it completely.
Till its fixed (if it ever will be) im using the twarp loaded in to a eXT plugin, where it works, and loading that in to Live.

Re: TimewARP2600 ADSR Bug related to Live
I just got a response from WOW about this, which may be the answer to this problem. Thought id share it with you:
"It appears that live is quantizing the range of the controllers which
is making this behavior happen. In TimewARP 2600 many of the sliders
operate in an exponential fashion to allow you to access the fine
control needed to create patches (you can hold the Control-Key in
TimewARP 2600 while moving a slider to get even finer control). I
believe Live is sending data only linearly and it is quantizing to
128 steps."
So there you have it.
Im hoping for a Linear and Expo option for the parameters in the twarp, so we can use it properly in Live in the future.
Or is there anything Ableton can do?

Re: TimewARP2600 ADSR Bug related to Live
That was what Jim told me originally. I don't doubt that it's confusing the exponential and linear issue. But the thing is what he's suggesting is for MIDI assignment, not Automap.
Is Jim suggesting that if you hold control-key as you twiddle that it won't do that?
