Bluetooth Problem

DONT use a wireless mouse with ableton guys and gals.......if your using a powerbook g4 like me, turn your bluetooth module off as well as your airport module as a precaution.

I had solved my previous audio dropouts completely until i started using a wireless mouse....now im having these damn problems again...

anyone else had problems with bluetooth stuff??

i should point out that its happened since i updated to the latest bluetooth firmware update......osx 10.3.7

Hey!

You shouldn't mix all that different stuff with your DAW, mate (but you might know this, tho..)! Try too keep it as clean as possible - it's better to buy a cheap PC/MAC to use on the net/bluetooth, so you keep your DAW safe & bug/virus-free..only a advice i know a lot of us are aware of - i have discovered this the worst way ever

Have worked for a IT-firm for a while, and had wireless network, mouse, keybord & bluetooth on my DAW - NOT good! Had to totally wipe it out, formatting & partition' it all from scratch - again; with NO other stuff than DAW-stuff re-installed this time!

But i got a P4 3.2, not a Mac.

it's me sniffio.

I also updated to 10.3.7 and having trouble.
The fans for the powerbook won't stop spinning when the temperature hit's around 61C.
Man, we shouldn't have updated.

I think I'm going to clean install from the scrach and go back to 10.3.6.
Is that the only way to go back to 10.3.6 ?

I also use bluetooth wireless mouse but don't have any problems so far.
Only this fan is annoying me.

Next time, when my system is completed and safe,
i'm never going to install anything from that point on.
Otherwise, when are we going to concentrate on music ?
Is this music that we're doing right now?

by the way my dropouts stopped completely since I swithched my interface from 828mk2 to RME multiface.

yeah..i am ditching the wireless network from this computer for sure...

and sniffio..i am also having these constant fan usage for some reason....i am using a Griffin iCurve stand with my laptop but even when the temp is very low...the fan is on constantly........maybe going back to 10.3.6 is the way forward......

i can't believe it.
Vince, you're having the same FAN problem ?
I was just start to think it was only me.
Maybe the os10.3.7 reduced it's temperature limit for some reason.
Oh here goes the fan again. i'm just using my safari and itunes.

The dealer for my soundcard RME suggested that i should update my os from the "combined version"
He said that might solve it.

So let me get this straight, you guys are complaining because your fan goes on to cool down your Powerbook when it gets hot in there?

mcconaghy, no....im not complaining that the powerbook is cooling itself down.....thats all good and well......but why does 10.3.7 make it stay on constantly when im not using any other intensive software than i used before....obviously in a battery only situation its not very usefull..

sniffio, i did originally update the combined update...but i reinstalled everything after that with only the single mode update...its only 30 mb rather than the massive combined one...which is full of stuff that we dont need.....

what about the new isight update?

Ah, I see. Have you checked Apple's boards too see if there's a workaround yet?

hello, i updated to 10.3.7,etc. and have no fan issues, they kick on and off as needed by temp...
just thought i'd let you know the prob might not be universal..
17" 1.33 powerbook....

BTW I use bluetooth mouse and never had any audio trouble before.
I use Bluetake BT500.
The battery runs out so quickly but other than that it's good.

im using the apple mouse...battery last for ages actually as lon as you close the optical slide on the bottom when you turn you computer off..

Im not using it on the laptop anymore though.....just to be totally safe.

yes, I used to use the same mouse for about a month.
I would like to report to you how it went with my audio,
but unfortunatly I didn't own any audio application at then.

Vince, have you ever considered to use Logic Pro 7 ?
It's really amazing tool.
Great for composing.

Yes, Live4 is much greater on stage.
I love the both.

If you are considering to use Cubase SX3 with your setup,
PLZ watch out.
It was really HEAVY with mine.
I couldn't do nothing when I was playing with the demo songs.
But with logic, it's much lighter and handy.
Rumors says Logic is hard to understand,
but if you came with Live4, I'm sure you can learn it in a week or two.

Anyways, I'm glad we have a similar setup.
Hope your audio is better now.

aah...you see this is where we drift apart on different paths my friend......i dont use computers to make music, only for my live show...

My studio is controlled by an MPC2000xl and i only use hardware synths and drum machines.....where i record all my music live onto dat.
Its fun and keeps the point of making music interesting and different every day.

I am considering using g5 dual as a sound module, purely due to the fact that its getting more and more expensive to buy ther hardware..i.e
Andromeda keyboard is now £2560. even though it is worth it....i cant afford it every month...
