So what are people's problems with the music, not the man? Just not your genre of choice?

Re: not a deadmau5 fan really but
No need to feel bad, another thread going several pages long just keeps his name alive and there ain't no such thing as bad publicity, only PUBLICITY. If George Michael can sell more albums after propositioning an undercover cop for a 10 dollar handjob in a public toilet, that's just living proof.
Chris Brown is probably selling more albums even though he allegedly beat a girl, and perennial sob story Amy Winehouse seems to sell more records the drunker/more stoned/more decrepid looking she gets, so don't feel bad for Mr. Mau5 ....Joe Satriani, long forgotten by anyone but the saddest bedroom shredder, is probably not serious at all about suing Coldplay, a group with way more money and legal backing than he could hope to have, but I'm sure he's sold a good few extra records since every website under the sun has featured his accusations.

The funny thing is this is perfectly acceptable in Hip Hop culture and even expected, but everybody in Electronica is a bunch of little girls that demand a higher level of politeness and respect. Ironically there is also a lot of shit talking towards Electronica artists that find the fast track to success, deserved or otherwise.

Re: not a deadmau5 fan really but
Somebody on here reported that he wouldn't let anybody else use Live to perform. That turned out to be a lie cleared up by the man himself on this very forum. The poster didn't lie but was told he couldn't use it by somebody that lied to him about it. But that post went on for days and the damage was done, some probably didn't follow it long enough to find out it was a lie.the shoe wrote:beats me wrote:Basically he has been quoted as talking a lot of shit about DJs in general and then there's supposed odd demands he makes of other artists/DJs that play with him, like what they can do and can't do.see the light wrote:I don't get why people dislike this chap? Then it was reported that he didn't want anybody opening for him to play above a certain BPM. I think that might have been true, but not sure.
I'm sure there might be other rumors/complaints out there.

DM can't blame the OP, but I hope he had some serious talk with the guy who told the ableton user he wasn't allowed to play live.
I don't like most of the stuff that he makes and I also don't like his "live performance", but he had some cool tracks and this is one of them.
I think this is legitimate. Everybody who has played after a warmupper who didn't actually warm up in terms of raising the energy in the club but smashing hits from the beginning at let's say 140bpm for a house club will agree.beats me wrote:Then it was reported that he didn't want anybody opening for him to play above a certain BPM. Of course depends on WHEN the main act plays, but if it is in the beginning of the peak time, you wouldn't want a warmupper who acts as if he was in the hottest peak time and doesn't prepare the floor but empty it because it is "too much" for the audience.
