Large clip view can swap clip locations when toggling

Post by aminoplacid » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:49 am

When I am editing a MIDI clip in session mode, I like to have the piano roll relatively large so I will expand the clip view vertically. I notice that when I expand it vertically far enough, the space above my tracks (under the overview) collapses a bit. When I double click on the track header to edit an instrument, this space opens back up because the clip view area has been replaced by the instrument view. Now when I double click my clip to edit it, the second clip holds on to the clip and because of the space at the top moving, it ends up moving my clip to the next row down.
This behavior only seems to happen in Session Mode.
Edit: This is using b16

Hi,

I moved the thread because technically there is no bug. If you feel you want to discuss the matter, please open a thread in the discussion forum, or in the feature wishlist forum, where it won't get lost.

Basically, we do move things a little up or down as to not waste space, and as to always have full clip slots visible. But, if clips are moving, it means you hold the mouse quite long, I believe. So for now you should only resize so that the track header is at the same level, or double click with releasing the mouse faster.
