DJing with ableton....?
i love ableton its great, but i was playing a club last night and had to play some rap, and i know ableton live isnt very good with rap without a sound card. Is there any midi controller (strictly usb) out there that i can physically plug my headphones into without buying a separate sound card. Also is there anyway that i can see my itunes play list on the search column like serato, i see all my songs but its just artist folders abc order which is kinda annoying id like to see my itunes playlist.

if you want portability and a quality audio interface look at native instruments audio kontrol 1 things built like a small audio tank with great sound . pair it with korgs new nano control you can map it any way you like with enough sliders pots buttons and a transport section to handle many different set ups. bonus is its portability both pieces are small and fit in a lap top bag. oh the audio kontrol allows you to listen and cue just like a rane or vestax mixer. there are lots of combinations of equipment it really depends on your budget and what your planing to do with your gear. you can probally get the above set up for under 350 dollars my advice do your research before you buy anything hope this helps.

if i use this audio kontrol 1 am i able to plug my uc-33e midi controller into this device. i would ultimately like to use the audio kontrol 1 so i could stick my earphones in and use the uc33 for its faders and slides while interfacing ableton, so is this possiable to do.

there are definitely quite a few all in one midi/audio interface products out there, but they might not be your best option....
as far as the playlist goes, i think most ableton dj's including myself bring the tracks in to ableton and get em warped before the gig, then just drag them in to your decks from an unused audio channel on the right or something

Yes, and yes. You can USB the AK1 to your laptop, and then MIDI i/o the UC33 to & from the AK1. Or just USB from the UC33, too.birdhouse19 wrote:if i use this audio kontrol 1 am i able to plug my uc-33e midi controller into this device. i would ultimately like to use the audio kontrol 1 so i could stick my earphones in and use the uc33 for its faders and slides while interfacing ableton, so is this possiable to do.
The Audio Kontrol is a lovely interface.

But let's say if i usbed the kontrol 1 from my laptop then midi i/oed the uc33e into the kontrol 1. Am i still able to stick the club's channel input into my laptop earphone jack, will the music go out of there into the clubs mixer then speakers?logic_user99 wrote:Yes, and yes.
