If you drag&drop Live's audio effect to an empty MIDI track, the track becomes armed (arm button turns red).
If you drag it to an empty audio track, the track does not become armed.
Not sure how this is supposed work. Should it work the same way for midi and audio tracks?
[amo] arming tracks when dragging audio effects
Re: [amo] arming tracks when dragging audio effects
Hi,
Tracks should not be armed when dropping an effect. As long as "exclusive arm" is ON, tracks get armed when dropping an instrument, regardless if it's dropped to the empty space as to create a new track, or to an empty existing track. I just tried and it's how it works in b16. Can you re-check, and tell me exactly what happens?
Regards,
Amaury

Re: [amo] arming tracks when dragging audio effects
I will download a new beta once b15 expires. I can check it again then.
Currently in preferences I have Exclusive Arm on and Exclusive Solo on.
If I select some audio effect (like Reverb/Room/Ambience) and drag&drop it to a
MIDI track which has no instruments or effects, this track becomes armed.
If I add the effect to a MIDI track that already has another effect or some instrument,
then it doesn't get armed.
And this is the way it works in my 7.0.14 also.

Re: [amo] arming tracks when dragging audio effects
Hi,
I see. That's because dragging an effect to the empty space creates an audio track. Audio tracks are never auto-armed, only MIDI tracks, so that you can play them directly.
BTW, please always use the latest beta, because lots of things get fixed in between. the fact that the expiration dates overlap is for convenience, in case we are late in delivering a new beta, but the latest beta should always be used, it avoids reporting bugs that were already fixed. It does not apply to this case of course.

Hi,
I'll move the thread to the "done" forum as there is no bug here. It at least behaves the same as in Live 7.
