Waves VST Plugs not working in Live 1.52 or 2 beta

hi. I have the Waves Bundle 3.5. when i try to load the Wave shell into Live to open waves effects, I get the 'a serious error has occurred . . ." message. The plugins work fine in Cubase 5.1

is there something wrong with my setup, or is this a known bug, or . . . ?

as far as i know, the waves shell only works with cubase (perhaps nuendo..) at the moment. do not know when/ if this will change...
