I am running Live 7.03 on xp sp3 with a monster machine and a decent pci soundcard and I am having serious latency issues. I have tried every setting with my card but I have come to the conclusion that it is only ableton that's waked out. At first I thought it was a result of the beta version of my virus ti control os3 but after rolling back I have narrowed it down to just ableton as all my vst's were rocking before this issue started.
When delay compensation is on, my track indicator and meters are reacting a full two bars behind the audio! I have my card set to 5 ms delay! And yes I have tried running it at 2ms and all the way up to 15ms..no luck. The weird thing is when I turn delay compensation off the latency goes away but everything sounds out of time. I have been using live since version 1.5 and this kind of behavior hasn't reared its ugly face since I was using a crappy usb interface and way less of a system.
Please...music is my source of smile...help

Re: Latency Comp Issue
Ok im an idiot and if anyone hurt their heads on this im sorry. The other guy had it right and i didn't realize I had fallen pray to his demise.I too had started some tracks with a template I had made from an Access template that was pre routed (and pre destined to destroy any mixing environment apparently!) I started a freshy and manually did the routing and presto linked and synced. Says a lot for taking the easy way out:) Hope this post helps someone avoid the freak out. Peace and Respect Liveheadz!
