What's the most productive (music) thing you've done today?
Re: What's the most productive (music) thing you've done today?
Gave some much-needed love & attention to my hardware synth racks - I've been ignoring them in favor of all the newfangled soft-synths. I've recently made the decision to migrate to Live as my principal DAW (was using Sonar for many years), and I spent much of today doing studio housekeeping and figuring out how to get Live to "talk" to the hardware. Once I'd gotten everything done, I did a sketch by pumping a Karma groove into Live (I could NEVER get Sonar to proper sync to Karma to my satisfaction!) and did a "Bollywood" piece with my Akai EWI, East-West's "Voices of Passion" and Omnisphere. Stoked - I LOVE Live!

Made a lot of nice pads on my nordlead. and a really prophety/moogish lead on my MICROKORG. That wee thing is a beast.
Also sketched 4 tracks (none of them 4 to the floor like everything else i write).. and more or less got a track ready for arranging and mixing.

Tried out my FCB1010 with the beta... Recorded a cover to get something done, since I'm being to anal with my own music.

Wow! You guys have done some pretty tasty stuff, today. Quality times.
As I'm half-asleep, and British, can someone tell me what 'drywall' is? Plasterboard? What are you putting it up for?

went to the gym and was forced to listen to kissfm. which i loathe. i cant stand that sodding vocodered nonsense song that goes 'you're so beautiful, so damn beautiful'. or that lily allen song. utter rubbish
now im trying to write an essay for a sound in context assignment, just listened to a violent femmes track - country death song.
got sidetracked from essay writing by playing the banjo for about 5 minutes
so...sort of productive

Did a trial run of my new live set using only the Elektron Machinedrum. Turned out well, very happy with the results. Then played my new acoustic guitar for a couple hours.

Productive days, guys.
Today, I've put a few drum programs together on the MPC and saved them as my autoload content; no more searching for drum sounds! *chuffed* Just need to get my head around the sequence editing now...
Loving the acoustic guitar, too. Both of mine need restringing; rusty threads on right now!
