OT: Burning problem in OS X - Disc In Exclusive Use

Hi there,
Im trying to burn some music so that i can check it out in the car and use it as a reference for mixing..
problem is that osx seems to think that the media is in use and i cant burn anything!

help! :?

Try closing any apps that might be using the files you're trying to burn.

i´ve tried both burn and disc utility
MBP - Ultralite MK3 - Genelec 8020 & 8030 - BCR2000 - padKONTROL - NordRack 2

right click on the file and choose info.
Make sure the file is set to allow write and re-write.
I'm puched for time right now, but when you get there
youll be able to see what to do.

i have the permission to read and write but i still cant burn anything...

when was the last time you ran the repair permissions command in the disk utilities application?

damn, that didnt work

its still bitching about one of the volumes on the media is in use....

Would you happen to have a Western Digital external drive?

Does it happen if you log in as a different user?

You can try to run lsof -n | grep -i "part of your volume name" in terminal.
It will show you all open files on volume

i acually do have a WD drive...

and i tried a friends studios copy of Toast 10 and it worked...anyone got a clue as to why Toast works and not the internal osx crap or Burn?

i really would like to avoid buying Toast...
