What's the most productive (music) thing you've done today?
Re: What's the most productive (music) thing you've done today?
Well my wife and I went to Kobe. Originally, I wasn't going to go but I knew I would just sit on the internet all day while she was gone. So, I went, took along my laptop, and Korg nanoKontrol. I sat in a McDonald's while my wife did her errands. Had a lot of fun eating a Spicy Chicken sandwich and working on some background sub conscience noises. I swear if I didn't need the internet everyday to check my emails and work schedule I would cancel it at my house. I'll get 10,000 X more things done. Damn you interesting cunts!

Haven't done much today so far - just woke up.
But yesterday I exported my first mixed down track in Live to see what it would sound like on my stereo. Still needs work, but I'm excited that I'm making progress and almost have a completed track.

Now, see, that's the kind of day I want to have! Visiting Kobe, that is... Heh.aizo wrote:Well my wife and I went to Kobe. Drywall is the plaster/gypsum based sheeting material that covers the internal framing of a building. Yeah, so Plaster Board sounds like the same thing.logic_user99 wrote:As I'm half-asleep, and British, can someone tell me what 'drywall' is? Plasterboard? What are you putting it up for?![]()
I am putting mine up because of ongoing renovations. Right now I am building a new laundry room and an ensuite for the master bedroom. I have to replace all of the drywall in my house anyway

drywall = a cross between dubstep and two step, with a little bit of wonky thrown in. with a donk on it.

wrote an info-sheet for a forthcoming gig. that was productive because I got it done in 7 minutes or so. played "pale blue eyes" on the ukelele to my baby-son. made a commitment to make photos of our DIY-controller tomorrow, they want one for the website of a festival where we will play in summer. played guitar. didn't open Live all day.

tried out this Taylor T5. Some pretty rawkus rythym guitar tones in there.
Wrote a nice bit of music with it. Then we gave like 20,000 dollars to poor people across the world. Like for real.

Created instrument rack presets where I can load 128 kicks into sampler and switch between em using a macro. Did this for a few of the sample libraries I own, and now I can toss em into a drum rack for easy sample mixing and matching.

just a dumb name to pigeonhole stuff that already exists...from what i gather its the more glitchy / 8-bit dubstep-ish/ hiphop...ah shit, i give up. no idea! interestingly though, i like pretty much everything listed on that page.
Re: What's the most productive (music) thing you've done today?
tried to come up with lyrics for a track i've already finished composing... the lyrics sucked, but not in a cool, ironic way. They just plain sucked. Gave up for today. tomorrow will probably be the same.

Got the brilliant idea of recording my music lesson on a voice recorder so I'd have a reference of all the theory and crap my teacher throws at me

Ho. Lee. Carp.
I've just spent the last hour learning the MPC500's 'step edit' mode; it is possibly the most sensible, productive thing I've done in...well...a very long time, let's say that! It's genius; so logical. I have a feeling that alot of nasty, noisy drums are going to come out of that little box very shortly.
Hope y'all have had good days.
