beta testing and original live 7
Hey ive just been beta testing the new live 8 which is cool, but for some reason I cant get me EIC2 to work in the live 8 beta. I would like to use the EIC2 for some music production but unfortunately I cant get it to load in live 8 therefore I have reverted back to live 7 but now all the preset links are broken. What do I do?

Re: beta testing and original live 7
Here is what I did. Cant promise it will work for you however, be cautious......
If your using Windows go to the My documents and delete all the ableton files you find.
Then go to your C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Application Data\ableton folder and delete it.
Unistall all versions of Live.
Now reinstall and live should ask where to put the new Library. The Library is the issue here becuase what happens is when you install a new version of Live it will add to but not replace a library. This holds all your presets. Deleting all the files under the C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Application Data\ableton folder also removes any preferences that Live has stored pointing to where this Library is. If you dont do this Live when reinstalled freaks out and says your Libray is gone. Even though you unistalled live it saves all this data. Crappy huh? Hope this helps. Its bummer either way.

Re: beta testing and original live 7
Hi,
I think I had a similar problem last night.
Tried out the Live 8 demo, which updated my library, then when I went back to live 7 none of my presets would load.
I fixed it by uninstalling all the ableton live packs (not 3rd party ones) from the preferences menu and downloaded / re-installed them from the ableton web site.
Seems to have worked. Bit less drastic than re-installing live.
Might be too late for you, but hope it helps someone else.
